How does Red Light Therapy Work?

Visible Red Light penetrates the epidermal (top) layer of the skin and begins to heat the dermis. With the rise in temperature, new collagen and elastin is naturally produced by your body, firming and tightening the skin. It also increases oxygen and nutrients, reducing inflammation and aiding in the healing of scars. The anti-inflammatory properties may also help in removing bacteria that causes acne and generates cellular activity that can help in the reduction of age spots and sun damage.

How often do I need to use the Red Light Therapy Bed ? And How quickly will I see Results?

We recommend that for the first 4 to 6 weeks of treatment you should lay 3 to 4 times a week and then 2 to 3 times a week after to maintain results. If you follow this schedule you will see results in those first 4 to 6 weeks. *

How long are the Sessions?

Up to a Maximum of twenty minutes

Will I get Tanned in the Red Light Therapy Bed?

No. Red Light Lamps use the visible spectra between 600nm and 700nm, but contain no UVA or UVB.

Is Red Light Therapy Safe?

Using red light therapy lamps is one of the few methodologies that gently and harmlessly reduces the signs of aging . There is no healing or downtime involved. Invasive anti-aging procedures such as micro-dermabrasion, dermal fillers and other injections, chemical peels or laser resurfacing can have serious side effects. Some people may just experience brief warmth (“glow”) following use of collagen lamps.

Do I need to take any Precautions?

We recommend the use of protective eyewear especially designed to reduce the level of brightness. People with the following conditions should avoid exposure to red light devices:

• if you are photo-allergic or take medication or use cosmetics that may cause light sensitivity
• if you suffer from porphyria
• if you suffer from epilepsy
• if you take cortisone or steroid injections

Can I Tan and have a Red Light Therapy treatment the same day?

Yes. We would suggest you use the Red Light Therapy Bed BEFORE you use the Tanning Bed or Airbrush Tan. The increased skin hydration will lead to better tanning results.
